YES ADVISORY BOARD
All original college and employer partners have been involved in the Youth Empowerment for Success Program since its conceptualization. They helped to identify industries and job sectors where employment opportunities are greatest, and where skills labor is in short supply.
PCHS has, and will continue to, work with college and employer partners through the Advisory Board to ensure that program and curriculum development meet the goals of the program. Research shows that participation in an Advisory Board is among the most effective strategies for engaging partners and including their input in guiding curriculum and program development. The YES Program Advisory Board is comprised of the PCHS Principal, teacher, guidance counselors and other key staff, workforce investment system partner, college partners, employer partners, parents, and students (in the near future). The YES Program is a locally-designed initiative targeted at the specific needs of local business and industry.Local, regional, and statewide employers need qualified job candidates and, alongside our college partner(s), are dedicated to developing such talent. Employer partners offer technical assistance by providing input and feedback regarding topics including (but not limited to): curriculum design, skill focus, design of job shadowing and internship opportunities. and industry certifications, among others. |
